Insect & Disease Management

Insect & Disease Management

Our first approach to protecting your trees and shrubs is to keep them as healthy and vigorous as possible. Proper fertilization, pruning, mulching and watering may be all it takes. Healthy trees and shrubs have their own natural defenses.

The Arbor Track health care program

If more is required, our certified arborists have years of experience in managing insects and diseases. We are always evaluating the latest, least disruptive techniques available. We can offer you seasonal preventive plans and a complete range of treatments calibrated to your needs.

Beginning in April, the Arbor Track monitor visits your property. Throughout the year, repeat visits are timed to coincide with the insect or disease pathogens prevalent in each particular species and variety.

Gypsy MothThe Arbor Track program allows the use of as many bio-rational and natural biological agents and controls as possible. We “spot” treat areas in order to reduce broad spectrum pesticide usage. Some pesticides are still used for optimal control of certain pests, but only when absolutely necessary.

For a healthy, beautiful lawn, our professionals can set up seasonal or preventive maintenance plans for insect and disease control. We know the importance of accurate, timely diagnosis and use this knowledge to recommend the optimal treatments.

If you prefer an organic program, we’ll design a plan that fits your objectives. Some of our clients choose IPM (Integrated Pest Management) a balanced approach that uses some chemical controls as required, but only when absolutely necessary.

If a 100% organic approach is what you want and you are realistic in your expectations, we can use state-of-the-art, non-chemical insect control methods.

We ask that you remember that an organically maintained lawn can be healthy, but probably not completely free of problems.
