At Hartney Greymont, we believe strong communities grow the same way healthy trees do—with care, support, and deep, lasting roots. For us, that means investing our time, energy, and resources into the places we call home. From volunteering at local events and supporting schools, to partnering with organizations that protect our natural spaces, we’re committed to strengthening the bonds that connect us. By giving back where we live and work, we’re not just caring for trees—we’re helping our communities flourish for generations to come.
Rooted in Community: Giving Back Where We Live and Work

Green Leaders Program
Hartney Greymont launched the Green Leaders program in 2018 to recognize employees’ personal volunteer activities and initiatives that promote trees, sustainable landscapes and the environment. Through the Green Leaders program, Hartney Greymont employees have made a meaningful impact in the communities they live and work in over the years.

Touch A Truck: Inspiring the Next Generation
Hartney Greymont is proud to support local Touch-A-Truck events, where families can explore fire engines, construction trucks, and our own arborist equipment up close. Our team brings bucket trucks, chippers, and climbing gear, giving kids a hands-on look at tree care while answering questions and sharing expertise. Beyond showcasing equipment, these events let us spark curiosity, share knowledge, and build stronger community connections—while inspiring appreciation for trees and the work that keeps them healthy.
We Are Proud To Engage With Our Communities In These Ways And More:

Planting Trees For A Brighter Future
Partnering with schools, nonprofits, and government organizations like UMASS Amherst, Beaver Country Day School, Native Plant Trust, and the Department of Conservation and Recreation, we share our arboriculture expertise to strengthen communities, advance environmental education, and build a greener future

Proudly Supporting Our Industry Partners
Hartney Greymont supports the Massachusetts Arborist Association, the Massachusetts Association of Landscape Professionals, International Society of Arboriculture, Massachusetts Nursery and Landscape Association, Massachusetts Horticultural Society, and more.

Volunteering on Arbor Day
At Hartney Greymont, Arbor Day is a chance to give back by partnering with the Massachusetts Association of Arborists to plant trees, share education, and support community cleanups—helping build healthier, greener spaces while highlighting the vital role trees play in our lives.

Collaborating with the Needham Garden Club and Needham DPW was a rewarding way to build resilience into a shared public space-- and give back to a community we cared about.

Volunteering at UMass lets me honor the foundation I built with the support of mentors like Brian Kane and Mike Davidsohn while inspiring the next generation to pursue their passion for the green industry.
